Un autèntic esdeveniment amb les veus de Lise Davidsen, Clay Hilley i Gábor Bretz
“Bride and sister you are to your brother, flourish here then, blood of the Wälsungs!”
Act I (Wagner: Die Walküre (The Valkyrie))
There are concerts that, even before they take place, are promises of historic nights at the Theater. To be able to listen to the first act of Wagner's Die Walküre is always a great event, but if it is also with the voices of Lise Davidsen, Clay Hilley, and Gábor Bretz, then we are talking about a true occasion. All three represent the future of opera and, especially, the German repertoire.
Lise Davidsen, the greatest Sieglinde or Elisabeth of our time, is the hope of a specific and demanding vocal world. While the world awaits her debut as Brünnhilde or Isolde, we will enjoy her portrayal of this character. Beside her, Bretz will be the jealous guardian of the home and of Sieglinde herself. Clay Hilley, as Siegmund on this evening, is the foremost heldentenor of today and a treasured asset demanded for all the important tetralogies in the coming years.
Last season, we already had the opportunity to intensely experience the scenes of Elektra under the direction of Josep Pons. He, commanding the musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, will take us to another level.

NOTICE: The Gran Teatre del Liceu has been forced to make a modification to the concert of The Valkyrie (Act I). The dense planning of the House with the tight schedule of the Sacre show and the last performances of Adriana Lecouvreur have necessitated the omission of the first 20 minutes of the show, starting with the piece that gives meaning to the concert: the first act of The Valkyrie, which will have a duration of 70 minutes without intermission.
