He has performed at the Metropolitan Opera House, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opéra de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper, Vienna State Opera, Theater an der Wien, and the Mariinsky Theatre.

His repertoire includes Attila, Le nozze di Figaro, Bluebeard's Castle, Don Quixote, Lucia di Lammermoor, La bohème, Lucrezia Borgia, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola, I Puritani, Macbeth, Rodelinda, Faust, La damnation de Faust, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Carmen, Tristan und Isolde, Der Freischütz, The Rake’s Progress, The Rape of Lucretia, and Iolanta.

Recently, he has performed several times at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, portraying the Inquisitor (Don Carlo), the Ghost (in the North American premiere of Dean's Hamlet), Borís Ismailov (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), and Sparafucile (Rigoletto).

He debuted at the Liceu during the Verdi Bicentennial concerts (2013-14) and returned for Il barbiere di Siviglia (2014/15).
