Ravel and Satie Anniversaries
A sonic journey through early 20th-century French music, where Satie's delicacy and Ravel's elegance come to life through the wind quintet.
This concert celebrates the anniversaries of two key composers of French music: Erik Satie and Maurice Ravel.
Satie, a precursor of minimalist music, transports us to his evocative sound world with the iconic Gymnopédies, arranged here for wind quintet.
Ravel, a master of orchestration and harmonic elegance, presents two emblematic works: Le Tombeau de Couperin, a tribute to those lost during World War I, and his String Quartet in F Major, adapted for wind quintet, where his rich timbral palette and melodic sophistication shine.
A dialogue between sensitivity and refinement that brings us closer to the essence of early 20th-century French music.
