Alba Valdivieso was born in 2002 in Barcelona. She pursued elementary and professional studies in music and violin at the Conservatori del Liceu and the Institut Artístic Oriol Martorell. She later began her vocal training at the Conservatori del Liceu with mezzo-soprano Cristina Segura, and in 2020 she entered the Conservatori Superior del Liceu as a winner of the Ferrer-Salat scholarships for young talents, studying with soprano Dolors Aldea.

She has received masterclasses from renowned singers and professors such as Adrian Thompson, Carmen Bustamante, Eduard Giménez, Nelly Miricioiu, Luciana Serra, Lorraine Nubar, Elena Pankratova, Dolors Aldea…

In the choral field, she was a member of the Escola Coral de l’Orfeó Català for 12 years, and of the Cor Jove Nacional de Catalunya, among others, under the baton of great conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Zubin Mehta, Simon Halsey, Gustavo Dudamel, Jonathan Nott, Xavier Pastrana, Mireia Barrera, Manel Valdivieso, Pere Lluís Biosca, among others.

As a soloist, she made her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the role of Rowan in Benjamin Britten’s The Little Sweep (El petit escuraxemeneies) and was also selected to perform the role of Beta in Marian Màrquez’s Filles del món at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as part of the Micro-Operas Project Òh!pera.

She debuted the role of Suor Angelica in Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica at the Theater im Delphi in Berlin within the framework of the Berlin Opera Academy’s Opernfest, as well as the role of Mimì in Puccini’s La Bohème as a prizewinner of the 28th Mirna Lacambra Competition.

She has also won the following competitions:

Montserrat Fabra Prize at the II Young Singers Competition of Girona in February 2024.

Classical and Contemporary Music Interpretation Prize at the Conservatori del Liceu in May 2024.

First Prize at the XII József Simándy International Singing Competition in Budapest.

She has performed with orchestra in operatic repertoire such as Verdi’s Falstaff, in the role of Alice, and in oratorio repertoire such as Vivaldi’s Gloria.

In chamber music, she has been the soprano of the Trio Florestan since 2021, which has been a finalist in several competitions and has given concerts throughout Catalonia.
