The Galician bass Alejandro Baliñas Vieites (born in 1997 in Villestro, Santiago de Compostela) studied under the guidance of Carlos Chausson and Manuel Burgueras, among others. His artistic development has been shaped by major international institutions. He was a member of the Académie of the Opéra national de Paris (2021–2023), where he performed roles such as Seneca in L’incoronazione di Poppea and Blanzac in La scala di seta. He made his debut at the Paris Opera in the 2022/23 season as Zúñiga in Carmen, returning the following year to sing Pietro in Simon Boccanegra, as well as other roles as a member of the first troupe of the Paris Opera (2023–2024).

In 2021, he was selected for the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, performing Don Profondo in Il viaggio a Reims, and in 2023 he joined the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival, debuting as Kostandis in The Greek Passion. He later returned as a guest artist at the Rossini Opera Festival in 2022 and 2024. He also performed Timur in Turandot at the Teatro de la Maestranza (2024). Over the course of his career, he has already debuted more than 35 roles in various languages.

His achievements have been recognized with numerous international awards. At the Neue Stimmen competition (2024), he won First Prize, as well as the Audience Prize, the Young Audience Prize, and the Special Patagonia Prize. During his time at the Paris Opera Academy, he also received the Prix Carpeaux and the Prix AROP, distinctions awarded to the most outstanding resident artists for their performance and potential.

Alejandro Baliñas Vieites has performed on stages across Europe and beyond, including the Paris Opera, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Teatro de la Maestranza, the Rossini Opera Festival, the Salzburg Festival, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Theater Basel, and the Auditorio Nacional de Caracas, among others.

He makes his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
