Hungarian-Romanian bass Alexander Köpeczi, Köpeczi began his musical training in Cluj, Romania as a pianist and accompanist. He then moved onto studying voice and made his professional stage debut in 2014. A prize winner at the 57th Francisco Viñas Singing Competition in Barcelona, he was invited in the summer of 2021 to take part in the prestigious Young Artists Project at the Salzburg Festival. He made his international professional debut at the Royal Ballet & Opera in 2022 and was part of the Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble from 2022 to 2024.
A recipient of the much coveted Herbert von Karajan Prize, his remarkable ascent includes current and future engagements with the Royal Ballet & Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Dutch National Opera, Opéra de Paris, Teatro di San Carlo Naples and Salzburg Easter Festival.
He makes his scenic debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
