British based Russian mezzo-soprano, Alyona Abramova, trained at Moscow’s Maimonides State Classical Academy and the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre. As a member of the Opernstudio of the Bayerische Staatsoper she sang in many productions including Jenufa under Tomáš Hanus, Elektra under Simone Young, Rusalka under Andris Nelsons, Suor Angelica under Kirill Petrenko, La Traviata under Asher Fisch and Lucia di Lammermoor under Antonino Fogliani. 

Her professional career was launched in the 2018/19 season and included her return to Bayerische Staatsoper in guest performances as Mercédès Carmen under Dan Ettinger and Olga Eugene Onegin under Joana Mallwitz. She also sang Third Nymph Rusalka for Glyndebourne Festival Opera under Robin Ticciati. 

Since then roles have included Maddalena Rigoletto (Opera North/Walker), Mercédès (Berlin Staatsoper unter den Linden/Barbenboim), Third Nymph (Teatro Royal/Bolton, Bayerisches Staatsoper/Gaffigan, Les Arts, Valencia/Meister). She also performed Rachmaninov’s Anna Karenina with the ballet of Bayerische Staatsoper. 

She makes her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
