Anna Farrés, soprano from Terrassa. She completed the Professional Degree in singing at the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Terrassa, where she received first prize as a solo instrumentalist and also graduated with honors in singing. She won the XXII Mirna Lacambra Competition and performed as Alice Ford (Falstaff) with the Fundació d’Òpera Catalunya (FOC). The Fundació Jaume Aragall allowed her to sing in the “marathon of young voices” and she was awarded a scholarship for masterclasses with Jaume Aragall. She won 1st prize in the “Triple Gran Concurs Cantata de Nadal” with Rosina in Andorra. She received a scholarship for the FOC choir (Le Nozze di Figaro, Otello by Verdi, Madame Butterfly, Goyescas, Manon Lescaut, Carmen, Don Carlo, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Falstaff, Tosca and Aida). She works in the choir of the Gran Teatre del Liceu as an official reinforcement member (L’Enigma di Lea, Hamlet, La Gioconda, Tosca, Luisa Miller, Turandot, Aida, La Bohème, Lucia di Lammermoor, My Fair Lady, and a concert with Javier Camarena in Peralada).
As a soloist in opera, she has performed the roles: Eleonora (Il Convito), Apollonia (La Cantarina), Second Woman (Dido & Aeneas), Rosina (La finta semplice), Zerpina (La Serva Padrona), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Micaëla (Carmen), Musetta (La Bohème), and Giovanna (Rigoletto) with FOC, touring major theaters in Catalonia and Santander. She has performed Lucy (The Telephone) in a self-produced show.
In zarzuela, she performs: Marola (La Tabernera del Puerto), Mari Pepa (La Revoltosa), Antonelli (Duo de l’Africana), and Raquel (La Corte de Faraón) on tour (Pamplona, Bilbao, and Zaragoza). In lyrical cantatas, she stars in world premieres of contemporary works performing: Noia (La Tempesta Esvaïda / J. Serra), Nisèle or Laura (La Maternitat d’Elna) on tour in Catalonia, and Narradora / Chon / Lola (El Gran Aretí), the work Pedraforca by Joan Manau, and the cycle I hate contemporary music by Manuel Torralba.
