In 2023, he received the prestigious Opus Klassik Award in the category of ‘Innovative Concert of the Year’ for his project Woman.Life.Freedom., a benefit concert at Oper Frankfurt produced in support of human rights in Iran.
The 2024-25 season marks numerous exciting projects for Cameron Shahbazi. With Vancouver Opera, he will make his company and role debut as The Refugee in Jonathan Dove’s Flight. Following the great success of George Benjamin’s newly created opera Picture a Day Like This, directed by Daniel Jeanneteau and Marie-Christine Soma, Shahbazi once again presents this acclaimed performance at the Opéra Comique in Paris, the Opéra national du Rhin, and the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg.
Together with pianist Sophia Muñoz, Cameron Shahbazi presents Warsaw Sessions, a recital that reinterprets both familiar and lesser-known music in a format that fuses styles and musical genres, ranging from Henry Purcell to Louis Armstrong, complemented by Baroque arias and Iranian melodies. The concerts will take place under the auspices of Nowa Miodowa in Warsaw and Les Lundis Musicaux in Paris.
He makes his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
