Caterina Piva began her artistic training in dramatic theater, graduating in Acting in 2009 and in Opera Singing in 2017 in Milan. She won the "New Voices" award at the 69th edition of the As.Li.Co competition.
She attended a specialization course at Teatro alla Scala, debuting as Annina in La traviata under the direction of Myung-Whun Chung. She later performed as La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi and Maddalena in Rigoletto. At the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, she played roles such as Fenena (Nabucco), Maddalena (Rigoletto), and Emilia (Otello), working with conductors like Zubin Mehta and John Eliot Gardiner.
In the summer of 2022, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as La Ciesca in Il trittico. She also participated in the new production of Fedora at La Scala and debuted as Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus at Teatro Carlo Felice.
In 2023, she sang Cherubino at the Royal Opera House in Muscat and Smeton in Anna Bolena. She returned to Salzburg as Lady Macbeth’s dame (Macbeth) and participated in the Verdi Festival in Parma. Recently, she sang Pulcinella and Stabat Mater in various theaters and debuted as Aristea in L’Olimpiade in Paris and as Charlotte in Werther at Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova. Among her upcoming engagements are Roméo et Juliette at Teatro di San Carlo and Carmen at Teatro Carlo Felice, among others.
She debuts at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
