Considered one of the leading mezzos of her generation, French mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine has gained international acclaim in recent seasons at theaters such as The Metropolitan Opera, Opéra national de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Colón, Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Teatro di San Carlo, Opera Australia, and the Canadian Opera Company. In the 2023/24 season, Clémentine is appearing in Il trovatore at the Teatro Regio di Parma, Aida at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Adriana Lecouvreur at the Opéra de Lyon, Opéra national de Paris and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. She is Carmen at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. 
Clémentine is a graduate from the CNSM in Paris where she studied under Gerda Hartmann and Chantal Mathias. She was awared with the Révélation classique Adami (2009) and the Révélation lyrique de l’année at the Victoires de la Musique (2011), as well as the Special Jury Prize at Marmande (2010). She joined the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she sang her first performances of Carmen, a role for which she has now become internationally known for and has since portrayed in New York City, Munich, Rome, Naples, Washington, Dallas, and Toronto. 
Clémentine is an established concert soloist with performances of Elijah in Berlin, Mozart’s Requiem in Lisbon, and Verdi’s Requiem. She made her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2017/18 season with La favorite and has returned with Aida (2019/20) and Carmen (2023/24).
