Concert for Peace

Concert for Peace

The Concert for Peace is a collective call through music, a shared voice that rises up against war and in favor of coexistence, solidarity, and human dignity.

In response to the growing number of armed conflicts and the increasing number of people affected by war around the world, starting in 2025, the Concert for Peace will be held annually in Barcelona, an initiative by the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation as a symbol of unity through art and a gesture of support for the humanitarian missions led by the Red Cross.

This edition will feature countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński as ambassador, lending his voice and artistic commitment to a cause that calls on music as a tool for cohesion and understanding among peoples. The ambassador role is being introduced this year for the first time and will change with each edition. Joining him on stage, performing entirely altruistically, will be national and international artists such as soprano Ofelia Sala and mezzo-soprano Helen Charston.

The Orchestra and Choir for Peace will be made up of volunteer musicians and singers from the country’s main musical ensembles, such as the Orquestra Simfònica i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), the Orquestra Simfònica and choir of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Orfeó Català, and the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, among others. The musical direction of this concert will be led by renowned conductors such as Josep Pons, Jordi Savall, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Jordi Mora, Daniel Mestre, Maria Mauri, Jordi Mora, and Pedro Pardo, among others.

The Concert for Peace is made possible by the joint effort of cultural institutions that collaborate selflessly, covering production costs, providing spaces, and contributing technical and human resources.

As in its first edition, the entire proceeds will be donated to humanitarian causes led by the Red Cross, reaffirming the spirit of solidarity that gave rise to the concert in 2022 and which has since grown into an act of solidarity and peaceful resistance.

Concert driven by the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation in collaboration with the Liceu and for the benefit of the Red Cross.
