French tenor Auvity starred in the first on-stage revival of Alcione since the death of its composer, Marin Marais. He initially studied physics until his singing talents were discovered at the 1999 edition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Singing Competition. With support from conductor William Christie, he embarked on his career at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence as Telemaco (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria), a role he has subsequently played all over Europe and in the United States, as well as taking part in a variety of other projects.
