Daniel Kirch

Daniel Kirch studied at the University of Music in his hometown of Cologne with Hans Sotin, as well as in Berlin with Irmgard Hartmann-Dressler. He is a winner of the Berlin National Singing Competition. His engagements have taken him, among other places, to the Wiener Staatsoper, the Volksoper Wien, the Semperoper Dresden, the Zurich Opera House, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, as well as the Bregenz and Salzburg festivals. His repertoire includes roles such as The Stranger (Das Wunder der Heliane), Fritz (Der ferne Klang), Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos), Florestan (Fidelio), Walther von Stolzing (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Siegmund (Die Walküre), Tristan (Tristan und Isolde), Siegfried (Siegfried, Götterdämmerung), as well as the title roles in Tannhäuser, Lohengrin, and Parsifal. He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu with Die Zauberflöte (2000/01) and returned with Der fliegende Holländer (2016/17).
