Elīna Garanča, internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, has achieved a remarkable career spanning decades. From Riga, Latvia, she has captivated audiences worldwide, establishing herself as a prominent figure in classical music. Known for her portrayal of Bizet’s Carmen, which she has performed in top venues like the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, and the Metropolitan Opera, the NY Times named her “the finest Carmen in 25 years.”
Recent highlights include her debut as Judith in Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle at Teatro di San Carlo and on tour with the MET Orchestra, as well as her debut as Kundry at the Bayreuth Festival, marking her as the first Latvian woman on this prestigious stage. The 2023/2024 season sees her at festivals across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
An exclusive artist with Deutsche Grammophon since 2005, her recordings, including Aria Cantilena, Romantique, and Meditation, have won critical acclaim and awards like ECHO Klassik.
