Herlitzius ranks among today's foremost dramatic sopranos. She returns to the Liceu after the much praised interpretation of Elektra (2016/17) which earned her the prize for the best female singer of the season in the Critics' Awards organized by Amics del Liceu. As a Wagner specialist, she opened the 2012/13 season at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan playing Ortrud opposite Jonas Kaufmann, with Daniel Barenboim on the podium. She has appeared at the Bayreuth Festival on numerous occasions, the first time as Brünnhilde in 2002.
