Born in Treviso, he studied at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice with Leone Magiera, making his debut in La bohème in Venice in 1996. In the 1997/98 season, he performed in Milan under the direction of Riccardo Muti (Macbeth) and debuted in two key roles in his career: Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) in Bologna and Don Carlo in Parma. He has also performed in cities such as Vienna, Verona, Florence, Naples, Rome, Macerata, Madrid, Bilbao, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Berlin, Chicago, San Francisco, and Zurich, among others.
He has worked with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Eliahu Inbal, Donato Renzetti, Fabio Luisi, and Ádám Fischer.
His repertoire includes titles such as Rigoletto, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Norma, Aida, Attila, I masnadieri, Luisa Miller, I due Foscari, Oberto, Pagliacci, Adriana Lecouvreur, Werther, Linda di Chamounix, and Turandot.
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2015/16 season with Simon Boccanegra and has returned with Un ballo in maschera (2017/18).
