Filip Filipovic

Croatian tenor Filip Filipović has been awarded 2nd Prize at the Hans Gabor Belvedere International Competition in Dortmund and the 2023 Young Musician of the Year award by the Zagreb Philharmonic. He is currently a permanent member of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, where he has performed roles such as Alfredo (La traviata), Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), and Ismaele (Nabucco).

The 2025/26 season marks a pivotal moment in his career, with major international debuts. He will appear at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège as Alfred in Die Fledermaus under the direction of Nikolas Nägele, and he will also return to the Teatre Principal de Palma as Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto.

At the Zagreb Opera, Filipović will debut the role of Pollione in Norma with Pier Giorgio Morandi, perform Walther in Tannhäuser, and reprise Ismaele in Nabucco. In the concert realm, he will sing Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville with the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla and Lucas Macías, Verdi’s Requiem in Zagreb and Rijeka with the HRT Orchestra and Choir under Valentin Egel, and make his debut at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid with the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and Joanna Carneiro in Beethoven’s Mass in C major, Op. 86.

He makes his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
