Tenor. Born in Chicago, Ian Koziara spent three years as part of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera, where he worked with prominent conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Bertrand de Billy, and Marco Armiliato. He made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Enrique in Thomas Adès’ The Exterminating Angel, with subsequent appearances in Parsifal, Nico Muhly’s Marnie, Die Zauberflöte, and La Fanciulla del West.
During the 2024/25 season, Ian Koziara will debut in Das Rheingold with the Bayerische Staatsoper, under the direction of Tobias Kratzer and the baton of Vladimir Jurowski. Other debuts will take place at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. He will also debut in the title role of Wagner's Parsifal at Oper Frankfurt, as well as in Janáček’s rarely performed work, From The House of the Dead.
