International Festival of Cante de las Minas

On April 2, 2025, the Gala of Winners of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas will take place for the first time, a unique event bringing the best of flamenco to Barcelona. On this special night, the award winners of the 2024 edition in La Unión will showcase their mastery in dance, singing, guitar, and flamenco instrumentation.

As a special guest, El Yiyo, born in Barcelona, is one of the greatest revelations in flamenco dance. The artist will electrify the stage with his unique style, blending elegance and strength. At just 28 years old, this young prodigy is already a star who has captivated audiences on national and international stages.

La Yunko, awarded the 'Desplante Femenino,' will light up the stage with her passion and dedication in dance; Jesús Corbacho, winner of the 'Lámpara Minera' trophy, will immerse us in his deep and emotional singing; Joni Jiménez, with the 'Bordón Minero,' will captivate us with his virtuosity on the guitar; and José 'El Marqués,' winner of the 'Filón' trophy, will offer a unique performance on the flamenco cello.

Since 1961, the Festival of Cante de las Minas has been an international benchmark for flamenco, held annually in the mining city of La Unión, in the Murcia Region. This prestigious competition, considered one of the most respected by critics and audiences alike, has propelled the careers of flamenco greats and preserved the tradition and authenticity of the Cantes Mineros and Levantine songs, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage.
