The Liceu Brass Ensemble was born within the brass section of the Gran Teatre del Liceu Orchestra, with the unconditional support of its musical director, Maestro Josep Pons, and with the aim of pursuing rigorous and excellent work. In preparation for this concert, the members of the Liceu Brass Ensemble engage in exhaustive technical work and delve into a virtuosic, demanding, and highly rewarding program.
On this occasion, the ensemble will be led and conducted by the renowned trombone soloist Ian Bousfield, one of the most influential brass musicians of our time. He has served as principal trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic and the London Symphony, and his career includes collaborations with renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti and Kent Nagano.
