London Symphony Orchestra & Gustavo Dudamel

In this unique evening, Gustavo Dudamel, a regular at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, will take to the stage at the helm of the legendary London Symphony Orchestra.

The prestigious Venezuelan conductor, a pivotal figure in conducting over the past decades, is internationally renowned for his interpretations of both symphonic and operatic genres.

Artistic and musical director of ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Simón Bolívar Orchestra, and his soon-to-be-announced new role at the New York Philharmonic, his leadership extends beyond grand auditoriums to classrooms, cinemas, and global digital platforms.

A sensitive and committed artist, Gustavo Dudamel is convinced that music can transform lives. Through his energetic direction on the podium, and his tireless advocacy for arts education, he has introduced classical music to new audiences worldwide and has helped facilitate access to the arts for countless people from disadvantaged communities.

One of the few classical musicians to become a true pop culture phenomenon, Dudamel has appeared in films such as Steven Spielberg’s new adaptation of Bernstein’s West Side Story, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mozart in the Jungle, Sesame Street, and The Simpsons.

Undoubtedly, Dudamel embodies like no other the idea of chasing a dream: a violinist from a young age in a nucleo of El Sistema, he played with various orchestras within this structure, a lover of music that offers opportunities to children in vulnerable and at-risk situations. He would accidentally have his first opportunity in conducting at the age of 13, when the scheduled conductor arrives late for the performance. He was destined to become one of the greats!

As part of an international tour, Dudamel will lead the legendary London Symphony Orchestra in revisiting the best symphonic repertoire of all time, in what will be one of the major events of the city's musical season.
