Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, he continued his studies at the Lester Polakov College in New York. He has held numerous painting exhibitions in Europe and the United States. As a set designer, he has taken part in productions such as Travessa deserts, Enrique IV, L’òpera de tres rals, La ronda, Ondina, and Frank V. He has also collaborated on opera titles including Il barbiere di Siviglia, Madama Butterfly, Il turco in Italia, L’elisir d’amore, and La traviata in Palma. He was the art director for the films Laura a la ciutat dels sants, La febre d’or, El amor es extraño, Mal de amores, Sombras paral·leles, Carambolas, and Nadie como tú, among others, and designed the costumes for Si te dicen que caí.
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 1987/88 season with Un ballo in maschera. He has returned with Il matrimonio segreto (1988/89), Jenůfa (1989/90), Un ballo in maschera (1990/91), and L’elisir d’amore (1997/98, 2004/05, 2012/13, and 2017/18).
