The Gran Teatre del Liceu announces changes in the cast of Cilèa's Adriana Lecouvreur, which will be performed at the theater from June 16 to 29.
Renowned tenor Roberto Alagna joins the cast of Adriana Lecouvreur, and Jonas Kaufmann cancels his participation in the production for reasons unrelated to the Theater.
Eleonora Buratto cancels her participation in the title, considering it too early to take on the role of Adriana Lecouvreur, hoping to offer it in the coming seasons. She is replaced by Aleksandra Kurzak on June 17 and 20, and Valeria Sepe on June 29.
Anita Rachvelishvili withdraws from the production for artistic reasons. In her place, Daniela Barcellona takes the first cast, and in the second, Clementine Margaine joins, making her debut in the role at the Opéra de Paris in January.

Renowned tenor Roberto Alagna joins the cast of Adriana Lecouvreur, while Jonas Kaufmann cancels his participation in the production for reasons unrelated to the Theater. Alagna, who previously sang the role of Maurizio in the 2011/12 season at the Liceu, joins the second cast (June 17, 20, and 26), while Freddie De Tommaso will perform the character on the premiere day, as well as on June 19, 22, and 29.
