Mozart’s Requiem: A Masterpiece Shrouded in Legend
Among all of Mozart's works, the Requiem KV 626 stands out for its emotional intensity and its deep connection with human feelings. This piece, begun by Mozart and completed by his disciple Franz Xaver Süssmayr, is considered one of the most emblematic compositions in classical music.
Its creation, cut short by the composer’s premature death, is surrounded by mystery and legends, captivating audiences for centuries. Through this work, Mozart managed to express a wide range of emotions, from the fear of the Last Judgment to the hope in divine mercy, turning it into a musical prayer that resonates with unique force.
Concert at the Church of Santa Anna
On Saturday, July 27 at 6:30 PM, the music of Mozart's Requiem will fill the walls of the Church of Santa Anna in Barcelona in an exclusive tribute concert for the community of the Santa Anna Campaign Hospital, which includes the users, all project volunteers, and collaborators.
This project, started in 2017, offers support to the homeless people of the city, providing welcoming spaces, listening, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, showers, and medical services.
Admission is free, and funds raised will go to this noble cause. The hospital is a community project that promotes social integration and personalized support, aiming to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people in the city.
The Gran Teatre del Liceu, in its commitment to bringing culture to the entire territory, works to promote inclusion and accessibility to culture. The social program LiceuApropa seeks to bring opera to groups that do not usually have access, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the unique experience that this musical genre offers.
