Asmik Grigorian, regarded as one of the most prestigious voices in the international operatic scene, will deliver a deeply moving concert featuring works by Strauss and Wagner.
Soprano Asmik Grigorian will headline the concert on Wednesday, July 2, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, alongside baritone Matthias Goerne, replacing Lise Davidsen. The Norwegian soprano had to cancel her participation in the concert after announcing her pregnancy and that she will give birth in June.
The Liceu welcomes Asmik Grigorian, regarded as one of the most prestigious voices in the international operatic scene, who will bring her artistic excellence to a concert of profound emotional depth.
The soprano will perform Vier letzte Lieder by Richard Strauss and the Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde by Richard Wagner, as originally planned in the program.
The Liceu wishes soprano Lise Davidsen great success in this new chapter, confident of seeing her shine in future projects on stage.
The concert will be a unique opportunity to experience the magic of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss in an evening of high artistic caliber. Josep Pons will lead the orchestra on an emotional journey exploring the fragility of humanity in the face of loss and transcendence, with performances by soprano Asmik Grigorian and baritone Matthias Goerne, two leading figures who will captivate the audience with a repertoire that includes the Liebestod and King Marke's Lament from Tristan und Isolde; Wotan's Farewell from Die Walküre, and Vier letzte Lieder, Richard Strauss’s final composition. A musical gift for opera lovers.
