Raffaella Lupinacci, born in Acri, is among the most sought-after mezzo-sopranos of her generation.
Selected by Alberto Zedda for the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, she made her debut in the summer of 2012 as Marchesa Melibea in Il Viaggio a Reims.

In 2013, after establishing herself at the 64th AsLiCo competition, she debuted in the title role of Tancredi within the same circuit, marking the beginning of her international career.

In recent seasons, Raffaella has performed as Adalgisa in Norma at La Monnaie and the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville; as Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. She has also appeared as Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius, as well as in the double role of Giovanna Seymour and Sara in the Bastarda project at La Monnaie. She returned to the Rossini Opera Festival, debuting as Arsace in Aureliano in Palmira.

In 2024, she starred in La Cenerentola at the Hamburg State Opera, performed Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, appeared as Sara in Roberto Devereux at the Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo, and debuted as Iphigénie in Iphigénie en Tauride at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.

Her engagements for the 2025/26 season include Norma at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Roberto Devereux at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Hamburg and at the Sferisterio di Macerata.

Her discography includes Rosmonda d’Inghilterra by Donizetti and Giulietta e Romeo by Vaccaj, released by Dynamic, as well as a cameo in the CD “Giulio Cesare, A Baroque Hero” by countertenor Raffaele Pe in Enea in Caonia by Hasse, its first world recording, released by CPO.

She makes her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
