Raúl Giménez debuted at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires singing the role of Ernesto (Don Pasquale) in 1980. In 1984, he made his European debut at the Wexford Festival with Le astuzie femminile.
Subsequently, he performed in Geneva with Il turco in Italia, at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro with Il signor Bruschino, as Armida at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria in Amsterdam. In the 1989/90 season, he made his debut at major theaters such as the Royal Opera House in London singing Ernesto, Vienna as Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), and once again at The Dallas Opera, this time as Ernesto.
Since then, he has sung in theaters such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opéra national de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, The Metropolitan Opera in New York, among many others. Since 2014, he has been the artistic director of the company Amics de l’Òpera de Sarrià, in charge of the Òpera de Cambra de Barcelona.
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2004/05 season and has returned with Le nozze di Figaro (2008/09), Falstaff (2010/11), and the 175th-anniversary concert (2021/22).
