After studying at the Conservatoire national supérieur de Lyon, French baritone Stéphane Degout attracted attention for his interpretation of Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at the festival of Aix-en- Provence.
Since then he has sung regularly in Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Vienna, London, Chicago, New York, Milan, Munich and elsewhere. His prime roles include Oreste (Iphigénie en Tauride), Wolfram (Tannhaüser), Raimbaud (Le comte Ory), Dandini (La Cenerentola) and Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro).
This is his first visit to the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
