Thomas Hobbs is one of the most interesting and relevant tenors and is in high demand among the leading Baroque and early music ensembles worldwide.

Highlights of Hobbs’ 2024/25 season include St. Matthew Passion for RIAS Kammerchor with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and concerts with ensembles such as Le Banquet Céleste, Gli Angeli Genève, and Les Arts Florissants, performing works including Bach Cantatas, Handel’s Messiah, and La Resurrezione.

Among his most significant engagements in recent seasons are two European tours with the prestigious Netherlands Bach Society as a tenor soloist in Bach’s Magnificat and as the Evangelist in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.

On the opera stage, Hobbs delivered a critically acclaimed performance as Telemachus in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, a new production for English National Opera conducted by Jonathan Cohen; he performed the roles of Apollo and Shepherd in Monteverdi’s Orfeo in semi-staged performances with Richard Egarr and the AAM, the title role in Britten’s Albert Herring, and Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.

He makes his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
