Iréne Theorin

Iréne Theorin

Theorin is a frequent performer at leading opera houses in cities such as London, Milan, New York and Munich. Her relationship with the Gran Teatre del Liceu began in the 2012/13 season, when she starred in Tristan und Isolde on the occasion of the visit the prestigious Bayreuth Festival's orchestra and chorus paid to Barcelona. Since then she has played other heroines here, notably Brünnhilde in Götterdämmerung (2015/16), which earned her the prize for the best female singer in the Critics' Awards organized by Amics del Liceu.

Ermonela Jaho

Ermonela Jaho

Soprano Ermonela Jaho, who received her first singing lessons at the age of six, later won a scholarship to study under Katia Ricciarelli in Mantua and attended the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. She has won awards in Milan, Ancona and Rovereto.

Her most emblematic roles include the leads in La traviata and Madama Butterfly, Liù in Turandot, and Suor Angelica. French, Russian and German operas are also part of her repertory.

Gustavo Dudamel

Currently music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Opéra national in Paris and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, his tireless advocacy for arts education has brought classical music to new audiences around the world.

He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2020/21 season with Il trovatore and has returned with Otello (2020/21), Die Zauberflöte (2021/22) and Mahler's 9th Symphony (2022/23).

Javier Camarena

Born in Xalapa (Mexico), he graduated with honors from the University of Guanajuato. Since his debut in Zurich in 2007, his voice has been acclaimed interpreting a wide range of composers, including Bellini, Bizet, Donizetti, Haydn, Mozart, Rossini, and Verdi.

Nascut a Avià (Berguedà), va estudiar cant a l’Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) i posteriorment va fer perfeccionament a la Musikhochschule de Karlsruhe. A més, està graduat en interpretació teatral per l’Institut del Teatre de Barcelona.

Sondra Radvanovsky

Soprano Sondra Radvanovsky is a globally celebrated artist. The depth and exquisite color of her voice are matched by her dramatic acting ability and versatility across a remarkable range of repertoire, from the title roles in Rusalka and Lucrezia Borgia, to Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac and the title role in Manon Lescaut. She is widely regarded as one of the premiere Verdi sopranos alive today, as well as one of the premiere interpreters of bel canto.

Saioa Hernández estudied with the tenor Santiago Calderón and later with sopranos Montserrat Caballé (with whom she prepared her debuts as Norma and Imogene in Il pirata) and Renata Scotto. Since then, she has continued to study and refine her singing with Francesco Pio Galasso.

Calixto Bieito

Calixto Bieito

Stage director and librettist.

He studied literature and history in Barcelona, stage direction at the Institut del Teatre and acting at the Escola d’Art Dramàtic in Tarragona. He was the director of the Teatre Romea in Barcelona for 10 years and created the Barcelona Internacional Teatre (BIT).
