Italian bass Antonio Di Matteo is one of the most promising talents of his generation, thanks to the exceptionally beautiful and smooth timbre of his voice. He studied at the Giuseppe Martucci State Conservatory in Salerno and has participated in masterclasses with Walter Alberti, Thomas Hampson, Bonaldo Giaiotti, and Renata Scotto. He also studied at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Anna Vandi and Renata Scotto. He is currently studying with Maestro Tommaso Monaco.

His repertoire includes roles such as Gualtiero (I puritani), the Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Leone (Attila), Colline (La bohème), Angelotti (Tosca), Guido (Francesca da Rimini), Timur (Turandot), and Sparafucile (Rigoletto), among others. He has performed in theatres such as the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro Real in Madrid, and the Teatro Regio in Turin.

He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2017/18 season with Un ballo in maschera.
