He graduated in voice from the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma under the guidance of soprano Lucetta Bizza, and continued his training with baritone Carlo Meliciani.
He has performed in theatres and concert halls around the world, including The Metropolitan Opera in New York, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in London, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Washington National Opera, LA Opera in Los Angeles, Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, as well as at the Salzburg Festival.
He has been conducted by maestros such as Riccardo Muti, Riccardo Chailly, Valery Gergiev, James Levine, Daniele Gatti, James Conlon, Gustavo Dudamel, Nicola Luisotti, Renato Palumbo, Donato Renzetti, Michele Mariotti, and Alberto Zedda.
He has taken part in the opening title of the Milan opera season on four occasions: Andrea Chénier (2017), Tosca (2019), the gala performance A riveder le stelle (2020), and Macbeth (2021).
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu with La forza del destino in the 2012/13 season, and has returned with Nabucco (2015/16) and Macbeth (2016/17, 2022/23).
