Born in Barcelona, alongside his musical studies, he studied singing with his father, the baritone Vicenç Esteve. He has also received lessons from singers such as Jaume Aragall, Joan Pons, Eduard Giménez, Carlos Chausson, and Rolando Panerai.
He won the Manuel Ausensi Singing Competition in 2002 and the Pedro Lavirgen Competition in 2004. Since his debut in 1999 at the Gran Teatre del Liceu portraying Uberto (La serva padrona), he has maintained a busy professional schedule.
He has performed roles like Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Taddeo (L’italiana in Algeri), Don Álvaro (Il viaggio a reims), Prosdocimo (Il turco in Italia), Silvio (Pagliacci), Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Severo (Poliuto), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Ping (Turandot), or Lescaut (Manon), among others.
He debuted at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 1999/2000 season with La serva padrona and has returned on numerous occasions, most recently with Andrea Chénier and Il viaggio a Reims (2017/18), L’italiana in Algeri (2018/19), Pagliacci (2019/20), the 175th-anniversary concert (2021/22), and Tosca (2022/23).
