Marianna Pizzolato studied classical singing with Claudia Carbi and graduated magna cum laude from the Conservatorio Bellini in Palermo. She later refined her bel canto style with Raúl Giménez. After attending a masterclass with Enzo Dara, she made her operatic debut in 2002/03 in the title role of Rossini’s Tancredi in Piacenza, conducted by Marco Zambelli.

A distinguished interpreter of Rossini repertoire, she debuted at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in 2003 as Marchesa Melibea in Il viaggio a Reims, returning in subsequent seasons as Tancredi, Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri), Andromaca (Ermione), Emma (Zelmira), Angelina (La Cenerentola) and Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia).

Her career has brought her to major international theatres, collaborating with conductors such as Carlo Rizzi, Michele Mariotti, Bruno Campanella, Riccardo Frizza and Giacomo Sagripanti. She has performed Rossini roles in Paris, Naples, Seville, Bologna, Liège, Santiago de Chile and at the Santa Fe Opera in the United States.

In 2013 she debuted in the Verdi repertoire as Fenena in Nabucco alongside Plácido Domingo at the Royal Opera House under Nicola Luisotti. Her repertoire also includes Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Pierotto (Linda di Chamounix), Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda) and productions of Così fan tutte.

She made her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2006/07 season with La clemenza di TIto and has returned with Rossini (en ocasió de La cenerentola) (2007/08), Maria Stuarda (2014/15) and Nabucco (2015/16).
