The Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu will participate in Barcelona, beacon to the world, in the prelude ceremony to the Louis Vuitton Cup, the final of the America's Cup of sailing, which will take place on October 10th at Bogatell Beach.
Based on the original idea from Igor Studio and led by Igor Cortadellas himself, the director and scene creator, Hanzel Cereza, with the sea, wind, and sails as the main protagonists, has conceived an ambitious show featuring the notable participation of the Castellers de Vilafranca, the Orchestra and Choir of the Liceu, the Escolania de Montserrat, and musicians Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Sara Blanch, Arnau Tordera, and Marina Herlop.
The ceremony will highlight the power of sport, fused with art and culture, as an agent of change and its capacity for commitment. It is a legacy project of the America’s Cup, supported by the host institutions, coordinated through the Barcelona Capital Náutica Foundation.
The event will combine technology, art, and nature through visual effects including drone constellations, LED screens, avatars, and seas of light, along with beautiful soundtracks, musical performances, and immersive symphonies designed by Catalan composer Albert Guinovart, inviting audiences from all over the world on an emotional journey.
Barcelona, beacon to the world, will be made possible thanks to the participation of companies such as Focus SA, specialized in the creation and staging of cultural and audiovisual content; Lavinia, with a wide and recognized history in television creations and services; Igor Studio, an internationally awarded creative studio; and Flock Drone Art, a Catalan company specializing in drone shows.
The ceremony will be broadcast by TV3, La 2, and Betevé, as well as by various international channels.
