Roberta Mantegna was born in Palermo in 1988; from the age of 8 she took part in the seasons of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo as a member of the children’s choir. She graduated in piano in 2009 and in opera singing in 2010 at the “V. Bellini” Conservatory in Palermo. She later completed a postgraduate specialization in opera singing at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari in 2015, studying vocal technique with Lucrezia Messa and repertoire with Domenico Colaianni. At the same time, she refined her studies with sopranos Dimitra Theodossiou and Renata Scotto at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

After making her debut in the title roles of Norma at the Teatro Comunale in Treviso and Maria Stuarda at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, she has recently appeared in: Carmen (Micaëla) at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, Le nozze di Figaro (Countess Almaviva) in Dubai on tour with the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, I masnadieri (Amalia) in Rome, Monte Carlo, and Valencia, Il corsaro (Gulnara) in Piacenza and Modena, Il pirata (Imogene) at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Le Trouvère (Léonore) at the Verdi Festival in Parma, La bohème (Mimì) at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and Il pirata in concert version at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.

Her upcoming engagements include the title role in Aida at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Ecuba (Polissena) at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca, and Don Carlo (Elisabetta di Valois) at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

She makes her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
