The Italian-Argentine tenor Santiago Ballerini is one of today’s most renowned performers of the bel canto repertoire. He has appeared in venues such as the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Canadian Opera Company, Teatro Regio di Torino, the Arena di Verona, the Opéra National de Bordeaux, the Teatro Real, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, among others.
In the 2025/26 season, Santiago Ballerini makes his debut at the Royal Danish Opera as Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, in Mariame Clément’s stage production. The season continues with music by the same composer and with his debut at the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo, taking part in the revival of Il furioso nell’isola di Santo Domingo, presented in a new production by Manuel Renga.
During the same season, Ballerini also explores two major works inspired by Beaumarchais. On the one hand, he returns to one of his signature roles, the Count of Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, with which he debuts at the Opéra de Marseille in Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau’s production. On the other hand, he performs for the first time Paisiello’s eponymous opera in concert version, alongside the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada under the musical direction of Lucas Macías, at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla in Granada and the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2022/23 season with Don Pasquale.
