The Sagrada Família basilica will be the privileged venue where the Requiem by Mozart will be presented, performed by the musical ensembles of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, with Maestro Giovanni Antonini leading.
An event resulting from the joint action of both institutions, exclusively aimed at an audience under 35 years old (the same age at which the brilliant Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart passed away).
Tickets for the performance have been distributed through a lottery in which nearly 15,000 people participated, with 835 double tickets awarded between the LiceUnder35 community and the general young audience, ages 18 to 35. This initiative is part of the Liceu's commitment to bringing classical music to new generations.

Shrouded in an aura of legend, the Requiem Mass is the culmination of a late phase in the composer's work dedicated to religious music. Interrupted by his premature death during its creation process, it is a true autobiographical document. It was completed by his pupil Franz Xaver Süssmayr, around which numerous questions persist: Mozart raised the question of death, but his query remained unanswered.
Opus ultimum, where the composer from Salzburg expressed, through this text of the Christian liturgy, all states of mind: from the fear of Judgment (Dies irae) to the hope of God's mercy (Kyrie), from the anguish of futile suffering (Recordare) to the certainty of an afterlife full of light (Luceat eis).

A funeral plan, but above all, an extreme prayer, imploring divine mercy. Few pieces of music have been so marked by the genius, expression, faith, and suffering of a human being. For this evening, some other scores by the composer have been included, feeding a vision of redemption and at the same time faith in humanity and its ability to make the world a better place.
The work, one of Mozart's most sublime and profound, will be presented in one of the most impressive spaces in the city, offering attendees an unforgettable experience, full of mystery and transcendence.
