Born in Poland, he began his vocal training at the Katowice Academy of Music, where he studied with Pavel Lisitsian and Sena Jurinac.
His first professional engagement was at the Landestheater Linz (Austria), and in 1997 he joined the ensemble of the Zurich Opera House. In this Swiss city, he performed some of his most emblematic roles, including Alfredo (La traviata), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Faust (Gounod), Tamino (The Magic Flute), Elvino (La sonnambula), Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera), and Rodolfo (La bohème).
Throughout his career, he has sung at major international venues such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, San Francisco Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, among others.
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2011/12 season in a concert featuring excerpts from Gounod’s Faust, and returned for Werther (2016/17), Un ballo in maschera (2017/18), Luisa Miller (2018/19), two recitals (2018/19 and 2021/22), and three concerts with soprano Sondra Radvanovsky (2020/21, 2022/23, and 2024/25).
